Pink Lady® America - Pink Lady® Brand Packers and Shippers

Pink Lady Truck    The Pink Lady® Brand Cripps Pink Variety is not only having an impact on growers and those in the retail produce business. Those involved in the packing and shipping of this apple will also be seeing some changes.

First of all, the Pink Lady® Brand brings with it the opportunity be a part of an exciting apple that has a number of distinguishing external and internal characteristics. It also comes with a trademark requiring some new responsibilities on the part of the packer of this new apple. Those deciding to participate will also reap the rewards that come with being associated with the Pink Lady® Brand.

For the packer it’s important to realize that use of the Pink Lady® trademark doesn’t end in the orchard. In fact, Brandt’s Fruit Trees® owns this trademark not only for its use with trees, but also with apples. It is the policy of Brandt’s Fruit Trees® to allow fruit packers who receive Cripps Pink Cultivar apples from licensed Pink Lady® growers to sell those apples in the United States under the Pink Lady® trademark.

The packer needs to verify that each grower providing Cripps Pink Cultivar apples is in fact licensed to grow and sell apples under the Pink Lady® trademark. Each of Brandt’s Fruit Trees® licensed growers has received a written trademark license to use the Pink Lady® mark in the United States. The easiest way for the packer to verify that a grower is licensed is to request a copy of it from the grower. If the license has been misplaced or lost, either the packer or grower can contact Brandt’s Fruit Trees® for written confirmation of the Grower’s status as a Pink Lady® licensee.

Packers receiving apples from licensed growers may use any version of the Pink Lady® marks in the United States which appear in the sample section below.
